The highly anticipated day for Apple fans has finally arrived. Today marks Apple’s ‘It’s Glowtime’ event, where the tech giant is expected to unveil its latest iPhone 16 series and the Apple Watch Series 10. Alongside the much-awaited devices, Apple may also announce release dates for several upcoming software updates, including iOS 18, iPadOS 18, tvOS 18, watchOS 11, VisionOS 2, and macOS Sequoia.
Apple’s ‘It’s Glowtime’ event will take place at the Apple Park in Cupertino, California. It is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM PT (10:30 PM IST), and fans worldwide can join virtually via live streaming on Apple’s official YouTube channel and its Indian website.
The highlight of the event is expected to be the iPhone 16 series, which will include four new models:
The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are rumored to have larger displays, with screen sizes of 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, respectively. Apple may introduce a new Border Reduction Structure (BRS) technology, allowing the Pro models to feature slimmer bezels compared to the previous generation.
The iPhone 16 Pro models are expected to be powered by the new A18 Pro chipset, offering enhanced performance and efficiency. Meanwhile, the standard iPhone 16 models are rumored to come with the A18 chipset.
Reports suggest that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will retain a dual-camera setup similar to the previous models. However, Apple is expected to introduce significant upgrades. The primary camera could feature a 48-megapixel wide-angle lens with 1x and 2x zoom capabilities. Additionally, the iPhone 16 Pro Max may boast a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, offering improved photography performance.
The new iPhones may come with a larger battery, rumored to be 4,676mAh, promising extended usage time. As always, Apple is likely to emphasize other key features such as enhanced AI functionalities, which will be powered by iOS 18.
