Income Tax Bill 2025: Parliamentary Debate and Opposition Protest

The Income Tax Bill 2025 has sparked intense debates in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, with opposition members vehemently protesting against certain amendments. The government introduced the bill to streamline taxation policies, enhance transparency, and modernize income tax regulations. The Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC), which reviewed the Income Tax Bill 2025, presented its report in Lok Sabha on January 31. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman echoed these sentiments, arguing that the bill ensures transparency and efficiency in tax collection.
