Maruti Suzuki India, the country’s largest car manufacturer, has officially launched the much-anticipated Swift CNG. Priced at a starting rate of Rs 8.19 lakh (ex-showroom), the Swift CNG brings new improvements over its predecessor, boasting better torque, enhanced fuel efficiency, and an additional variant. This launch solidifies Maruti Suzuki’s hold on the CNG market, now offering a total of 14 CNG models in its lineup. With the increasing demand for eco-friendly and cost-effective vehicles, the introduction of the Swift CNG marks a significant milestone for the brand.
At the heart of the new Swift CNG is Maruti Suzuki’s 1.2-litre Z-series Dual VVT engine, a powerful yet fuel-efficient engine designed to cater to both urban and highway drivers. The engine delivers a maximum power output of 69.75PS and a peak torque of 101.8Nm. This marks a noticeable improvement over the previous Swift CNG model, which offered slightly lower figures. The previous generation of the Swift CNG produced 77.5PS and 98.5Nm of torque, indicating the new model’s increased torque capabilities.
Paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, the Swift CNG provides a smoother driving experience, ideal for navigating through India’s busy city roads as well as open highways. The new torque levels, combined with the engine’s optimization, promise a well-rounded performance that drivers will appreciate.
Fuel efficiency is where the Swift CNG shines. Maruti Suzuki claims the new model provides a 6% improvement in mileage compared to its predecessor, offering an impressive 32.85 km/kg. This makes it the most fuel-efficient premium hatchback in India. With rising fuel prices and increasing environmental concerns, this level of fuel efficiency makes the Swift CNG an attractive option for customers looking for an eco-friendly, budget-friendly vehicle.

The Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG is not just about performance and efficiency. It also comes packed with features that enhance the overall driving experience. The car boasts a 7-inch Smart Play Pro infotainment system, providing seamless connectivity, entertainment, and navigation. Paired with automatic climate control, drivers and passengers can enjoy a comfortable ride, regardless of the weather outside.

These safety features, combined with the car’s durable build, make the Swift CNG a safe and reliable option for families and individual drivers alike.

CNG vehicles have become increasingly popular due to their lower emissions, cost-effectiveness, and fuel efficiency, and Maruti Suzuki is leading the charge in this space.
CNG variants accounted for 15% of the total sales in the previous generation Swift, and Maruti Suzuki expects this number to rise significantly with the new model. The company has set a target of selling 600,000 CNG vehicles in the fiscal year 2025, and the Swift CNG will play a crucial role in achieving this goal.
The Swift CNG will initially be offered in Gujarat, catering to the high demand during the festive season. Gujarat has seen a significant increase in the adoption of CNG vehicles, making it the perfect market for the Swift CNG’s launch.
